     A common misconception in theology dating back centuries if not millennia is the notion of the scripture inspired of God known as the word of God. The title ‘Word of God’ is another of many names and titles given to the Messiah Lord and saviour Christ Jesus. The first allusion of this is the well known scripture of John chapter 1 verse 1.

    The point here is that while God promises not to flood the earth ever again, He far from promises not to destroy anyone by other means, the foremost being fire.  In fact the passage here demonstrates that it is the heavens depicted as burning on the day of judgement where the earth is laid bare in all that we have done.
